No Menthol Sunday is The Center for Black Health & Equity’s annual call to action highlighting the detrimental impact tobacco has on Black communities. Every third Sunday in May, we engage faith leaders to educate congregants about smoking, vaping, and the role of new menthol tobacco products and other flavors in initiating nicotine addiction.
In December 2023, The White House announced a delay in implementing the law removing menthol from tobacco products. Despite this, we hold them accountable for providing culturally competent resources and supporting organizations to help those struggling with tobacco addiction. Within our communities, we remain at the vanguard of a tobacco-free world.
